Linking linguistics to other disciplines within the humanities, we are passionate about teaching and conducting research in literary studies, too. With a doctorate degree (PhD) obtained in Great Britain and demonstrable work experience gained in local higher education and adult learning settings, we offer private tuition primarily in the following areas:

  • 20th- and 21st-century American / British / Anglophone Literature
  • 20th- and 21st-century World Literature
  • 20th- and 21st-century Comparative Literature

Objectives:

  • deeper understanding of the meaning of literary works
  • emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue and developing an understanding of how to think comparatively regarding cultural productions from different eras and areas
  • developing skills in close reading, analysis and critical thinking
  • analysing literature from psychological perspectives
  • examining the narrative representation of identity in multi-ethnic societies
  • enhancing our sensitivity to intercultural understanding and cultural communication
  • investigating the narrative portrayal of family pathology
  • conducting bibliotherapeutic activity that can be a means of prevention, rehabilitation and resocialisation
